1. Can you change colours or combine several photos into one painting?
Yes, in many cases we can change colours and small details in the painting. We can also combine several photos into one portrait – just send us your photos and tell us what you have in mind, and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
2. Will my painting arrive stretched on a frame or rolled in a tube?
A painting will be ready to hang on a wall, not rolled in a tube. (except in large sizes)
3. What kind of photos work best?
Clear photos with good lighting and sharp faces work best. Please avoid very dark, blurry or heavily filtered photos.
If you’re not sure which photo to use, you can send us 2–3 options and we’ll help you choose.

- You place your order securely on our website.

5. How long will my order take to arrive?
Total delivery time = painting time + shipping time
Painting time: around 5 business days
Shipping time: 5–8 business days
We also allow about 2 extra days for drying and final checks before shipping.
In some cases, especially during busy periods, total delivery time can be up to 15 days.
If you need your portrait by a specific date, please contact us in advance.
Once your portrait has been shipped, we’ll email you a tracking number so you can follow its journey to your address.

6. Return Policies
Refunds & Cancellations (Custom Portraits)
Because every portrait is custom hand-painted just for you, our refund policy is different from regular products.
Before painting starts
You can cancel your order and receive a full refund within 24 hours of placing your order, as long as our artist has not started painting yet.
If you wish to cancel, please email us as soon as possible at kakny@kakny.com with your order number.
After painting has started or after shipping
Once our artist has started painting or your custom portrait has been shipped, it cannot be refunded or returned for change of mind, wrong size chosen, or if you simply decide you don’t like the photo you provided.
Because each portrait is painted to your order, we are unable to resell it to someone else.
Damaged, lost or incorrect orders
If your portrait arrives damaged, is lost in transit, or is very different from what we agreed (for example, a serious mistake in the subject), please contact us within a few days of delivery.

We will review your case and, depending on the situation, arrange a replacement painting or a refund.
7. Are these real hand-painted artworks or just prints?
Yes – they are 100% hand-painted.
No AI, no cheap printed canvases – just real artists using real oil paint on canvas.
8. Where do you ship and what countries do you support?
At present, we are able to offer shipping to the following countries: USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, UK, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland.
We are headquartered in Hong Kong with studios in California and Pennsylvania.

9. Is my online order secure?

10. value-added tax (VAT)
At the final stage of checkout, Kakny will automatically calculate and display any taxes or VAT that we are required to collect based on your shipping address. Where applicable, we will remit these amounts to the relevant tax authorities.
For many small, non-high-value orders, no additional import tax or duty is charged on delivery, but this depends on your country’s policies and the total value of your order.
If your local customs office charges extra import duties, taxes or handling fees when your parcel arrives, these costs are the responsibility of the buyer. This is standard for international e-commerce orders.
VAT rates and whether VAT is charged will vary by country and will always be shown on the final checkout page.
